Football Game Preview: Huron Tigers vs. Bellevue Redmen

The Huron Tigers will venture away from home to face off against the Bellevue Redmen at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Bellevue took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Huron, who comes in off a win.

Huron will roll into the matchup after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up 13 points last Friday, then bounced right back against Port Clinton on Friday. The Tigers enjoyed a cozy 35-21 victory over the Redskins. The win continues a trend for the Tigers in their matchups with the Redskins: they've now won four in a row.

Huron's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Landon Hohler, who threw for 356 yards and three touchdowns while completing 80.8% of his passes, and also punched in one rushing score. Those 356 passing yards gave Hohler a new career-high. Braxton Barrett was Hohler's top target, picking up 155 receiving yards and one score.

Huron didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Hohler and Caleb Staley. Staley got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Meanwhile, Bellevue came up short against Edison on Friday and fell 21-14. The Redmen have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

The win got Huron back to even at 3-3. As for Bellevue, their defeat dropped their record down to an identical 3-3.

Huron beat Bellevue 19-7 when the teams last played back in October of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Tigers since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
