Baseball Recap: Carlisle Takes a Loss

If Carlisle was feeling good fresh off their 12-2 takedown of Hazen on Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Bison came up short against the Baptist Prep Eagles on Tuesday, falling 16-1. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Eagles this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 18-14 back in March.

Carlisle saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Cole Averitt, who went 1-for-2 with one RBI.

Carlisle's defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 7-7. As for Baptist Prep, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 7-5.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Carlisle will host Des Arc at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Baptist Prep, they will look to defend their home field on Thursday against England at 4:30 p.m.
