With a playoff win on the line, Smithson Valley rose to the challenge on Saturday. They never let the Palmview Lobos get on the board and left with a 7-0 victory. Considering the Rangers have won 16 games by more than five runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

Smithson Valley is on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 15 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 25-12 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.4 runs on average over those games. As for Palmview, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 26-10.

Looking ahead, Smithson Valley will take on Barbers Hill on Saturday. The Eagles will roll in looking for their seventh straight victory, something the Rangers surely won't give up without a fight. Palmview does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
