Volleyball Game Preview: Walnut Wildcats vs. Philadelphia Tornadoes

The Walnut Wildcats will square off against the Philadelphia Tornadoes on Tuesday. Walnut is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last ten games.

Walnut is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Saturday. They blew past Strayhorn 3-0.

Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: Walnut took every set by at least 13 points. The match finished with set scores of 25-1, 25-7, 25-12.

Philadelphia not only won on Saturday, but they posted their biggest win since August 30th (when they won 3-0). They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over North Side.

Philadelphia not only won, but also showed off some consistency: they kept North Side between 14 and 17 points across their sets. The final score came out to 25-14, 25-17, 25-17.

Walnut's win bumped their record up to 32-3-1. As for Philadelphia, the victory got them back to even at 8-8.

Everything went Walnut's way against Philadelphia in their previous matchup back in October of 2024, as Walnut made off with a 3-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Wildcats since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
