Hempfield has gone 9-1 against Cedar Crest recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Monday. The Black Knights will challenge the Falcons at 4:15 p.m. Hempfield is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.4 runs per game this season.

Last Wednesday, Hempfield got the win against Manheim Township by a conclusive 10-1. The victory continues a trend for the Black Knights in their matchups with the Blue Streaks: they've now won seven in a row.

Kali Peifer made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching five innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.

In other batting news, Jenna Ernst was incredible, going 2-for-3 with four RBI, one stolen base, and one run. That stolen base marked the first that she snagged this season. Another player making a difference was Lily Ashton, who scored two runs while going 1-for-2.

Hempfield always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .519. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Manheim Township only posted an OBP of .273.

Meanwhile, Cedar Crest was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 15-14 heartbreaker at the hands of Ephrata. Even if the Falcons couldn't come away with the win, the high-scoring effort was a great turnaround for their hitters, which had struggled int the games prior.

Hempfield now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Cedar Crest, their loss dropped their record down to 2-7.

Hempfield took their victory against Cedar Crest in their previous matchup back in May of 2024 by a conclusive 16-1 score. Will the Black Knights repeat their success, or do the Falcons have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
