Ritchie County is 2-8 against Wahama since May of 2021 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Rebels will head out on the road to square off against the White Falcons at 6:00 p.m. Ritchie County is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.1 runs per game this season.
On Monday, Ritchie County beat Parkersburg 6-2.

Rocklyn Marcum was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 13 batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in eight consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and two runs.
In other batting news, Ava Satterfield was excellent, going 1-for-3 with three RBI and one run.
Meanwhile, Wahama faced Doddridge County in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Monday. The White Falcons fell just short of the Bulldogs by a score of 6-5.
Kalyn Christian and Audrey Reynolds did some serious damage despite the final result: Christian went 2-for-3 with one run and one double, while Reynolds went 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
Ritchie County is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine contests. That somehow still isn't as good as their 12-3-1 record this season. As for Wahama, their loss dropped their record down to 17-4.
Wahama's hitters will have their work cut out for them on Tuesday. Ritchie County has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 6.9 strikeouts per game. It's a different story for Wahama, though, as they've been averaging only 2.7 strikeouts. Will Ritchie County keep running through batters, or will the White Falcons buck the trend?
Everything went Ritchie County's way against Wahama when the teams last played back in April of 2024, as Ritchie County made off with a 10-3 victory. Do the Rebels have another victory up their sleeve, or will the White Falcons turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
