Recap: Horizon Huskies vs. Notre Dame Prep Saints
The Horizon Huskies lost against the Notre Dame Prep Saints back in February, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Horizon was dealt a 87-51 loss at the hands of Notre Dame Prep. While losing is never fun, Horizon can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Arizona basketball rankings (they are ranked 208th, while Notre Dame Prep is ranked 13th).
Horizon lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Ethan Hayes, who scored 16 points. Those 16 points set a new season-high mark for him. Gavin Henss was another key contributor, scoring nine points.
Horizon struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only an offensive rebound. That's the fewest offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Horizon has been struggling recently, as they've lost five of their last six contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-8 record this season. As for Notre Dame Prep, their victory was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 6-1.
Horizon is on the road again on Thursday and play against Scottsdale Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. on December 14th. Notre Dame Prep won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Mountain Pointe at 7:00 p.m. on December 13th. Mountain Pointe is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'.
