Recap: Douglass Eagles vs. Blake Bengals

It was a good run, but the Douglass Eagles unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Thursday. They took a hard 82-68 fall against Blake. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.

Kwari Harvey and Jordan Jackson certainly did their best on Thursday to try and avoid the loss. Harvey scored 24 points along with six rebounds, while Jackson scored 16 points. The matchup was Harvey's third in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was makhye mcknight, who scored five points.

Douglass' defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 5-2. As for Blake, they pushed their record up to 3-1 with that victory, which was their third straight on the road.

Douglass won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Bladensburg at 7:00 p.m. on December 29, 2023. Bladensburg will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Maryland Rankings (they are ranked 188th, while Douglass is ranked 43rd). Blake won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Riverdale Baptist at 7:00 p.m. on December 29, 2023. Riverdale Baptist knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past eight games -- so hopefully Blake likes a good challenge.
