Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Holy Name). They put the hurt on the Magnificat Blue Streaks with a sharp 16-3 victory on Saturday. Winning may never get old, but the Green Wave sure are getting used to it with their fourth in a row.
Reagan Vavro made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out seven batters over five innings while giving up three earned runs off four hits. Vavro was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with one home run and two RBI.
In other batting news, Aubrey Stephens and Bailey Garlow did most of the damage at the plate: Stephens went 3-for-4 with one home run, four runs, and one stolen base, while Garlow went 2-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and two RBI. Those four runs gave Stephens a new career-high. Anna Soos was another key player, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with two RBI and one run.
