Volleyball Recap: Clay Eagles vs. Perrysburg Yellow Jackets

After flying high against Napoleon last Thursday, Clay came back down to earth. The Clay Eagles fell 3-1 to the Perrysburg Yellow Jackets on Wednesday. The Eagles were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Yellow Jackets apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played two weeks ago.

While Clay had to settle for second, they sure made a game of it, scoring at least 19 points in every set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-23, 25-19, 14-25, 25-22.

Despite the loss, Clay still got an impressive performance from Jadyn Kennedy, who had 15 digs.

Even though they lost, Clay kept the net locked down and finished the game with 12 blocks. That's the most blocks they've posted since the start of last season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Perrysburg to victory, but perhaps none more so than Brooklynn Okoneski, who had 17 digs. Ali Cherry was another key player, getting six digs and 22 assists.

The loss snapped Clay's winning streak at six games and leaves them with a 18-4 record. As for Perrysburg, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 16-6.

As of now, neither Clay nor Perrysburg have any future games scheduled.
