Baseball Recap: Gulf Shores Extends Winning Streak to Four

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Gulf Shores walked away with it. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Pike Road Patriots 5-4. The victory was familiar territory for the Dolphins, who have now won four contests in a row.

Gulf Shores got a great performance from Woods McElroy as he tossed 6.1 innings while giving up three earned runs off nine hits. What's more, McElroy posted four strikeouts, the most he's had since back in March.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Jacob O'Bryan, who went 2-for-4 with two runs and one stolen base. That's the most hits he has posted over his last ten games.

Gulf Shores' win bumped their record up to 19-12-1. As for Pike Road, their defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 13-20.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Gulf Shores beat the Patriots by a score of 6-3 later that day.
