Basketball Game Recap: Fort Defiance Indians vs. Page County Panthers

Fort Defiance extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to four on Wednesday, dropping them down to 0-3. They might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 55-41 to the Page County Panthers, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. The Indians were down 49-27 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.

When it comes to explaining why Fort Defiance lost, don't look at Connor Batten. Despite the final result, he posted six points and eight rebounds.

As for Page County, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-1. That's two games straight that they have won by exactly 14 points.

Brandon Wright had another great game (as he tends to do), shooting 47% from the field en route to 22 points and four steals. Another player making a difference was Caden Combs, who put up 12 points in addition to seven steals and six boards.

Fort Defiance and Wilson Memorial will compete for holiday cheer at 7:30 p.m. on the 19th. As for Page County, they will welcome Turner Ashby at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
