Volleyball Recap: Iola Takes a Loss

Iola was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They fell 2-0 to the Anderson County Bulldogs. Surprisingly, this marked the Mustangs' fifth straight game in which the away team has come away the victor.

The final score came out to 25-11, 25-12.

Haidyn Desmarteau paced Iola's offense, picking up four kills. Desmarteau were helped by Addi Wacker and Zoie Hesse, who contributed five assists each. Hannah Thompson controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

Iola's loss dropped their record down to 6-19. As for Anderson County, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 12-11.

Iola has already played their next matchup, a 2-0 defeat against Burlington on the 9th. As for Anderson County, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-1 victory against Osawatomie on the 9th.
