Softball Preview: Wabash Apaches vs. Eastern Comets
The Wabash Apaches will take on the Eastern Comets at 11:00 a.m. on Monday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.
Wabash is headed into the contest having just suffered their biggest defeat since May 4th on Friday. They lost 17-5 to Bluffton. Apaches fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team has lost against the Tigers since Friday.
Andi Conliff made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Elli Hall, who went 1-for-3 with one triple and two RBI.
Meanwhile, Eastern came up short against Delphi Community on Wednesday, falling 10-3. The Comets have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Eastern saw eight different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Emillia Andrews, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases. Andrews is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last seven games she's played.
