Softball Game Preview: Mt. Diablo Red Devils vs. Ygnacio Valley Wolves

Mt. Diablo has gone a perfect 10-0 against Ygnacio Valley recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Red Devils will host the Wolves at 4:30 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Mt. Diablo lost 33-4 to Las Lomas on Thursday. The Red Devils have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Mt. Diablo saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Leilani Sheperd, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two doubles. Sheperd is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged two or more in each of the last three games she's played. Ashley Cornejo was another, going 1-for-2 with two runs and one stolen base.

Meanwhile, Ygnacio Valley came up short against San Lorenzo on Tuesday, falling 21-3. The Wolves have struggled against the Grizzlies recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.

Mt. Diablo's defeat dropped their record down to 4-15. As for Ygnacio Valley, their loss dropped their record down to 0-12.

Mt. Diablo got the 'W' in their previous meeting on Friday against Ygnacio Valley by a conclusive 18-3 score. Will the Red Devils repeat their success, or do the Wolves have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
