Lake Travis jumps into No. 1 rank in southwest, finishes season on top.

Behind its win over The Woodlands in the Class 6A-I state championship game, Lake Travis (Austin, Texas) jumped past Class 6A-II state champion DeSoto for the No. 1 spot in the MaxPreps southwest region football computer rankings.
Lake Travis captured the sixth state championship in school history by defeating The Woodlands, but it was the first at the Class 6A level.
The regional rankings are based on the MaxPreps National Football Computer Rankings, presented by the Army National Guard. The Southwest region includes teams from Texas, Oklahoma, New Mexico and Arizona.
