Volleyball Game Preview: Beyer Patriots vs. Lathrop Spartans

Beyer is 0-4 against Lathrop since March of 2023 but things could change on Monday. The Beyer Patriots will look to defend their home court against the Lathrop Spartans at 6:30 p.m. After the two teams made easy work of their previous opponents, one won't be so lucky on Monday.

Beyer extended their road winning streak to three games thanks to a huge performance from Cruz Hibbard. Beyer put the hurt on Ceres with a sharp 3-0 win on Friday thanks in part to Hibbard, who had three digs and two aces. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in assists (29).

Beyer was especially dominant in the first set. The match finished with set scores of 25-13, 25-20, 25-21.

Meanwhile, Lathrop got the win against Central Valley on Friday by a conclusive 3-0.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-9, 25-17, 25-4.

Lathrop's win came from a few key players Beyer will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Cameron Loyola, who had 20 assists and one block. He is on a roll when it comes to assists, as he's now posted 20 or more in each of the last four games he's played.

Lathrop is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-4 record this season. Beyer's victory bumped their record up to 9-5.
