Softball Preview: Zeigler-Royalton Tornadoes vs. Hamilton County Foxes
The Zeigler-Royalton Tornadoes will challenge the Hamilton County Foxes at 12:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams each escaped (but just barely!) with wins against their previous opponents.
Having struggled with four defeats in a row, Zeigler-Royalton turned things around against St. Bede on Thursday. They had just enough and edged out the Bruins 13-11.

Mayti House was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, three doubles, and three RBI. Those three runs gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Adrianna Furlow-Hampton, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.
Meanwhile, Hamilton County sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 13-11 win over Fairfield on Thursday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Foxes.
Hamilton County got a massive performance out of Kelsie Ashcraft, who went 2-for-4 with four runs, two stolen bases, and one triple. Saylor Brown was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with four RBI, one run, and one double.
Hamilton County was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .412. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .323 or higher in eight consecutive contests.
Zeigler-Royalton's victory bumped their record up to 7-11. As for Hamilton County, their win bumped their record up to 7-8.
