Basketball Recap: Star Valley Takes a Loss

Star Valley and Central squared off in some playoff action on Thursday, but Star Valley had to settle for second. They were outmatched by the Central Indians and fell 68-33. While losing is never fun, the Braves can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Wyoming basketball rankings (they are ranked 28th, while the Indians are ranked second).

Despite the loss, Star Valley still got an impressive performance from Livy Kleeman, who posted nine points. What's more, Kleeman also posted a 57% field goal percentage, which is the highest she's achieved since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Morgan McGee, who had four points.

Star Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 14-11. As for Central, the win was the 18th in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 23-1.

Star Valley has already played their next game, a 76-40 loss against Green River on the 14th. As for Central, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 63-35 victory against Campbell County on the 14th.
