Big Foot is on a three-game streak of home wins, while Brodhead is on a four-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Chiefs will welcome the Cardinals at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Big Foot is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.8 runs per game this season.
Big Foot's pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. They came out on top against Evansville by a score of 4-0.
Holly Kynell was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out six over seven innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up a single walk in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and one triple. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April.
Kynell wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Claire Patek, who went 1-for-2 with one run and one RBI.
Big Foot hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They are a perfect 9-0 when they post two or more strikeouts.
Meanwhile, after soaring to 14 runs the game before, Brodhead was a bit more limited in their matchup on Friday. They fell just short of Jefferson by a score of 2-1. The contest marked the Cardinals' lowest-scoring game so far this season.
Ava Risum spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on eight hits and racked up 12 Ks.
Brodhead moved to 12-4 with that loss, which also ended their three-game winning streak. As for Big Foot, their win bumped their record up to 12-7.
Both the two teams just can't seem to miss. Big Foot has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 9.3 hits per game. However, it's not like Brodhead struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 4.4 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Big Foot couldn't quite get it done against Brodhead when the teams last played back in April as they fell 3-0. Will the Chiefs have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check back here after the action for a full breakdown and analysis of the contest.
