Soccer Game Preview: Barnwell vs. Hampton County

The Barnwell Warhorses are taking a road trip to challenge the Hampton County Hurricanes at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Barnwell has given up an average of 7.2 goals per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Barnwell came up short against Whale Branch on Wednesday, falling 12-1. Barnwell were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 8-0.

Meanwhile, after failing to score in their last contest, Hampton County made sure to put some goals up on the board against Barnwell on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by a 6-2 margin over the Warhorses. With Hampton County ahead 4-0 at the half, the game was all but over already.

They hit Barnwell with a four-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Jackson Gibbons (3), Rafe Sullivan, Juan Banegas, and Law Bennett.

The victory snapped Hampton County's losing streak at four games and leaves them with a 2-9 record. As for Barnwell, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-7.

Barnwell might still be hurting after the 6-2 loss they got from Hampton County in their previous meeting on Tuesday. That matchup was all but decided by halftime, at which point Barnwell was down 4-0.
