Baseball Game Preview: North Laurel Jaguars vs. Madison Central Indians

North Laurel is 1-9 against Madison Central since April of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. North Laurel will be playing in front of their home fans against Madison Central at 6:00 p.m. The last three games North Laurel has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

North Laurel took a loss when they played away from home on Saturday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Monday. They had just enough and edged out Leslie County 8-6. The Jaguars' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Carter Kelley was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3. Cam Smith was another key player, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one double and one RBI.

Meanwhile, while Madison Central put up some runs on Monday, the same can't be said for Rockcastle County. Madison Central blew past Rockcastle County 10-0. That looming 10-0 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Indians yet this season.

The victory snapped North Laurel's losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 2-4 record. As for Madison Central, the win got them back to even at 4-4.

North Laurel couldn't quite finish off Madison Central in their previous matchup back in May of 2024 and fell 3-1. Can North Laurel avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
