Basketball Recap: Lake Region Comes Up Short

Lake Region's tournament run continued when they took on Seminole on Friday. The Lake Region Thunder were dealt a 74-45 defeat at the hands of the Seminole Seminoles. While losing is never fun, the Thunder can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 629th, while the Seminoles are ranked 241st).

Lake Region has been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last eight matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-11 record this season. As for Seminole, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-7.

Lake Region will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Santa Fe Catholic at 7:30 p.m. on January 6, 2025. As for Seminole, they will take on Westside in a tournament on January 4, 2025.
