Basketball Recap: Adams Central Takes a Loss

On Wednesday, the Adams Central Flying Jets came up short against the Marion Giants and fell 58-50. The Flying Jets have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Despite the loss, Adams Central still got an impressive performance from Ava Stafford, who almost dropped a double-double on 16 points and nine assists. The dominant performance gave Stafford a new career-high in assists. Another player making a difference was Ellie Ogg, who posted nine points and five boards.

Even though they lost, Adams Central smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive rebounds. That's a new trend for them: they were averaging 7.6 offensive boards per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 matches they've averaged 8.9.

Adams Central's defeat dropped their record down to 5-15. As for Marion, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 10-13.

Adams Central has already played their next game (against Fort Wayne Blackhawk Christian), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Marion has also has no score uploaded for their next contest, this one against Norwell.
