Basketball Game Preview: Waynesfield-Goshen Tigers vs. Elgin Comets

The Waynesfield-Goshen Tigers will challenge the Elgin Comets at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Waynesfield-Goshen is headed into the matchup having just posted their closest victory since February 17, 2024 on Saturday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 61-58 win over McComb.

Meanwhile, Elgin beat Triad 39-29 on Tuesday.

Waynesfield-Goshen's victory ended a six-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-12. As for Elgin, their win ended a seven-game drought at home and bumped them up to 4-12.

Waynesfield-Goshen didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Elgin in their previous meeting back in January of 2024, but they still walked away with a 61-57 victory. Will Waynesfield-Goshen repeat their success, or does Elgin have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
