Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Newport - Bellevue walked away with it. They blew past the North Creek Jaguars 15-8 on Monday. Considering the Knights have won nine games by more than six runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.
Allie Barashkoff made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing 3.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Barashkoff was even better at the plate, getting on base in five of her six plate appearances with four runs and one double.
In other batting news, Newport - Bellevue got a massive performance out of Demi Brown- Ruegg, who went 3-for-5 with four RBI, two runs, and one double. Another player making a difference was Emma Chen, who got on base in five of her six plate appearances with four RBI and one run.
Newport - Bellevue always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .588. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as North Creek only posted an OBP of .371.
Newport - Bellevue moved to 10-11 with that victory, which also ended their four-game losing streak. As for North Creek, the defeat snapped their winning streak at six games and leaves them with a 20-2 record.
As of now, neither Newport - Bellevue nor the Jaguars have any future games scheduled.
