Baseball Recap: Gavin Apice Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat East Greenwich

Chariho hadn't done well against East Greenwich recently (they were 0-3 in their previous three matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Monday. The Chargers never let the Avengers get on the board and left with a 10-0 win. This was payback for the Chargers, who suffered a 10-2 loss the last time these two teams met.

Chariho got a massive performance out of Gavin Apice, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Apice has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played. Another player making a difference was Ethan Elderkin, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Chariho kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their hit total in four consecutive matches.

Chariho's record is now 11-8. As for East Greenwich, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 10-9.
