Football Game Recap: Sayre Redskins vs. Muncy Indians

Sayre extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to nine on Saturday, dropping them down to 0-5. They might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 42-0 to the Muncy Indians, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Redskins of the 61-20 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in September of 2024.

As for Muncy, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 4-1. Those wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 6.5 points on average over those games.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Muncy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Andrew Walters, who rushed for 64 yards and a pair of touchdowns, and also threw for 48 yards and one TD. Another rusher making a difference was Layken Harris, who rushed for 80 yards and one score.

Sayre has already played their next game, a 62-6 loss against Northwest Area on the 27th. As for Muncy, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 27-7 defeat against Montgomery on the 26th.
