Basketball Recap: Amanda Harris and Essense Key Secure Win for Loachapoka

Loachapoka had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 10 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They had just enough and edged the Beulah Bobcats out 53-50. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Indians have posted against the Bobcats since December 7, 2021.

Leading Loachapoka to victory were Essense Key and Amanda Harris. Key posted 12 points along with seven rebounds and five steals, while Harris went 6 of 15 on her way to 15 points in addition to seven boards and four steals. Key has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last four times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Destiney Core, who put up five points and three steals.

Loachapoka has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight matches, which provided a nice bump to their 8-5 record this season. As for Beulah, their defeat was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 3-7.

Loachapoka will host Lanett at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Loachapoka has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Beulah, they will venture away from home to face off against Glenwood at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Glenwood will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something Beulah surely won't give up without a fight.
