Pierce County put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They walked away with a 28-16 win over the Brooks County Trojans. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Bears also won the last time the pair played back in September of 2024.

Brooks County's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Damari Baynard, who rushed for 156 yards while picking up 9.2 yards per carry. Another signal caller making a difference was Junior Burrus, who threw for 159 yards and two TDs.

Pierce County's victory bumped their record up to 5-0. As for Brooks County, their loss dropped their record down to 1-4.

Pierce County and Brooks County should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Georgia Rankings. The Bears will square off against Vidalia at 7:30 p.m. on Friday with a big rank advantage (66 vs. 323). Meanwhile, Brooks County (ranked 101st) will meet Turner County (ranked 311th) at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
