Basketball Recap: Hart County Comes Up Short

On Tuesday, the Hart County Bulldogs were within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 48-42 to the Powdersville Patriots. The Bulldogs have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Powdersville's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Raegan Bryant, who went 5 for 12 on her way to 17 points in addition to six assists and three steals. The dominant performance gave Bryant a new career-high in assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Makayla Assemian, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and ten boards.

Hart County's loss dropped their record down to 6-4. As for Powdersville, with the victory, they broke their five-game losing streak and moved their record to 2-5.

Hart County wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 46-34 defeat against Elbert County on the 21st. As for Powdersville, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 43-30 win against St. James on the 20th.
