Football Game Preview: Piketon Redstreaks vs. Westfall Mustangs

Piketon is 7-2 against Westfall since October of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Redstreaks will venture away from home to square off against the Mustangs at 7:00 p.m. Piketon will be strutting in after a win while Westfall will be coming in after a defeat.

Westfall will be up against a hot Piketon team: the squad just extended their winning streak to three. The Redstreaks blew past Adena 27-7 on Friday. Considering the Redstreaks have won five contests by more than 19 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Among those leading the charge was Jayce Johnson, who picked up 122 receiving yards and one TD. Those 122 receiving yards gave him a new career-high.

Another reason for the win was Piketon's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for four sacks. That dominant display was truly a team effort as four different players picked up one apiece.

Meanwhile, Westfall came up short against Huntington on Friday and fell 34-21.

Piketon's victory bumped their record up to 5-3. As for Westfall, their loss dropped their record down to an identical 5-3.

Everything came up roses for Piketon against Westfall in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, as the squad secured a 42-6 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Redstreaks since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
