Basketball Game Preview: Terra Linda Trojans vs. Redwood Giants

Terra Linda is 0-10 against Redwood since January of 2019 but things could change on Friday. The Terra Linda Trojans will challenge the Redwood Giants at 7:30 p.m. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Terra Linda comes in on five and Redwood on seven.

Terra Linda is headed into the matchup after thoroughly thrashing Tamalpais: they outscored them in every quarter. Terra Linda managed a 49-44 win over Tamalpais on Tuesday. Given the Trojans' advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 152nd, while the Red Tailed Hawks are ranked 770th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Redwood). They blew past San Rafael, posting a 68-33 victory. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win the Giants have posted since December 17, 2024.

Redwood's victory was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-4. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.3 points per game. As for Terra Linda, their win bumped their record up to 13-3.

Terra Linda suffered a grim 67-41 defeat to Redwood in their previous matchup back in January of 2024. Can Terra Linda avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
