The San Dimas Saints will venture away from home to take on the Los Altos Conquerors at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. San Dimas is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.6 runs per game this season.
San Dimas came up short against South Hills on Wednesday, falling 15-3. The Saints haven't had much luck with the Huskies recently, as the team has come up short the last seven times they've met.
Jaidyn Baeza made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with one home run. The team also got some help courtesy of Tiffany Villegas, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.
Meanwhile, Los Altos was able to grind out a solid victory over Alta Loma on Wednesday, taking the game 6-2.
Kaylahni Duenas made a splash while hitting and pitching. She struck out eight batters over six innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with one home run and three RBI.
In other batting news, Los Altos let Angel Aguilar and Isys Garcia run wild. Aguilar went 1-for-3 with one home run, while Garcia went 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. That's the most RBI Garcia has posted since back in March. Brianah Alejandre was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing three bases while going 1-for-4.
Los Altos lost a few balls and finished the game with three home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.
San Dimas' loss dropped their record down to 11-8-1. As for Los Altos, their record is now 12-7.
Both the two teams just can't seem to miss. San Dimas has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 8.6 hits per game. However, it's not like Los Altos struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 4.2 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
San Dimas couldn't quite finish off Los Altos in their previous meeting back in April of 2021 and fell 4-2. Can the Saints avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
