Soccer Game Preview: West Craven vs. Eastern Wayne

The West Craven Eagles are taking a road trip to take on the Eastern Wayne Warriors at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Neither squad made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

West Craven fought the good fight in their overtime matchup against SouthWest Edgecombe on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Cougars by a score of 2-1. The result was nothing new for West Craven as the team haven't won a game since March 20th.

Their goal came courtesy of Trinity Kearney, who's now up to seven this season.

Meanwhile, Eastern Wayne came up short against Washington on Tuesday, falling 5-1. The defeat continues a trend for Eastern Wayne in their meetings with Washington: they've now lost three in a row.

Eastern Wayne's loss dropped their record down to 5-7-2. As for West Craven, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-12-1.

West Craven might still be hurting after the 5-0 loss they got from Eastern Wayne in their previous matchup back in March. Can the Eagles avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
