Baseball Recap: Topeka Sets Scoring Season-High Against Washington

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Topeka). They put the hurt on the Washington Wildcats with a sharp 8-0 victory on Tuesday. The Trojans not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since May 9, 2024.

Elisha Guest was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out six over six innings pitched. Guest was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while going 3-for-4.

In other batting news, Antoine Stewart was excellent, scoring a run while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Drayden Acosta, who scored two runs while going 3-for-4.

Topeka's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-2-4. As for Washington, their loss was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-7.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Topeka beat the Wildcats by a score of 18-2 later that day.
