Softball Game Preview: Atchison County Tigers vs. Pleasant Ridge Rams

The Atchison County Tigers will square off against the Pleasant Ridge Rams at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with 24 consecutive losses dating back to last season for Atchison County and three for Pleasant Ridge.

Atchison County lost 11-1 to Jackson Heights on Thursday.

Atchison County saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Madisen Mount, who went 1-for-3 with one RBI. Another was Mackenzie Scholz, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.

For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when Pleasant Ridge and Onaga meet (five straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Thursday. The Rams came up short against the Buffaloes, falling 13-0.

Pleasant Ridge's defeat dropped their record down to 4-8. As for Atchison County, their loss dropped their record down to 0-15.

Atchison County might still be hurting after the 18-3 defeat they got from Pleasant Ridge in their previous matchup back in March of 2024. Can the Tigers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
