Basketball Recap: Elmira Extends Home Winning Streak to Three

Elmira won the last time they faced Maine-Endwell, and Mariah Matias did her part to make sure it happened again. The Elmira Express came out on top against the Maine-Endwell Spartans by a score of 55-46 on Monday thanks in part to Matias, who dropped a double-double on 21 points and ten boards. Matias is crushing it when it comes to rebounds: she's pulled down at least eight every time she's taken the court this season.

The team also got some help courtesy of Addison Taft, who went 5 for 12 en route to 12 points and five boards. That's the most rebounds she has posted since back in January of 2024.

Elmira pushed their record up to 8-2 with the win, which was their third straight at home. As for Maine-Endwell, they are on a five-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Elmira has already played their next matchup (against Corning-Painted Post), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Maine-Endwell has also has no score uploaded for their next contest, this one against Union-Endicott.
