Soccer Game Preview: Lake Highlands vs. Richardson

The Lake Highlands Wildcats will take on the Richardson Eagles at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Richardson took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Lake Highlands, who comes in off a win.

Richardson will be up against a hot Lake Highlands squad: the team just extended their winning streak to three. Lake Highlands never let Nimitz get on the board and left with a 6-0 victory on Friday. The Wildcats might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine games by three goals or more this season.

Meanwhile, Richardson unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Tuesday. They fell just short of Pearce by a score of 3-2. Richardson fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team's lost against the Mustangs since on Tuesday.

Maya Thornburg and Rachel Lawless-Felarca scored both of Richardson's goals, bringing their combined season tally to eight goals.

Lake Highlands pushed their record up to 14-2 with the win, which was their seventh straight on the road. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up two goals over those seven contests. As for Richardson, their loss dropped their record down to 8-7.

Lake Highlands took their victory against Richardson when the teams last played back in February by a conclusive 3-0. Does Lake Highlands have another victory up their sleeve, or will Richardson turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
