Softball Recap: Foxcroft Academy Takes a Loss

Foxcroft Academy had lost eight straight at home dating back to last season, but on Wednesday they dropped their record down to 3-8 to make it nine. They lost 13-0 to the Ellsworth Eagles. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Ponies of the 11-3 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2024.

As for Ellsworth, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-6 record this season. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six matchups by eight runs or more this season.

For Ellsworth's part, they saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jasmine Emerton, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one run and one RBI.

Coming up, Foxcroft Academy will head out on the road to face off against Mattanawcook at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Lynx will roll in looking for their sixth straight win, something the Ponies surely won't give up without a fight. As for Ellsworth, they will be playing at home against Mount Desert Island at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
