Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Gainesville walked away with it. They put the hurt on the Springstead Eagles with a sharp 6-1 victory on Monday. The result was nothing new for the Hurricanes, who have now won six games by four goals or more so far this season.

The win was the fifth in a row for Gainesville, bringing their record for this year to 9-5-1. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 21 goals over those five matches. As for Springstead, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 9-9.

Gainesville didn't take long to hit the pitch again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-0 defeat against Lecanto on the 30th. Springstead does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
