Basketball Recap: Lumpkin County Comes Up Short

If Lumpkin County was riding high fresh off their 64-13 takedown of Johnson last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Lumpkin County Indians were dealt a 74-40 loss at the hands of the Chestatee War Eagles on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, the Indians can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 246th, while the War Eagles are ranked 82nd).

Lumpkin County has been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last nine games, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-16 record this season. As for Chestatee, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 17-7.

Lumpkin County will host White County at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Chestatee, they are taking a road trip to take on North Hall at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
