Softball Recap: Wimberley Snaps Four-Game Streak of Losses on the Road

Wimberley won the last time they faced Marion and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Wimberley Texans walked away with a 5-2 victory over the Marion Bulldogs.

Grace Strobel spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on two hits. That's the fewest hits she has allowed since back in February.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Ella P, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and one stolen base. Those three RBI gave her a new career-high. Bailey Wright was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-4.

Wimberley's win ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 4-13. As for Marion, they moved to 8-4-3 with that defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

Looking ahead, Wimberley will host Canyon Lake at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The game will give Canyon Lake their first taste of in-conferenceaction this season. As for Marion, they will head out on the road to face off against Long Creek at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
