Basketball Recap: Washington County Makes It Ten in a Row at Home

It's playoff time, and Washington County had no trouble coming through when it counted. Everything went their way against the Clover Garden School Grizzlies on Tuesday as the Washington County Panthers made off with a 79-57 win. The Panthers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine contests by 20 points or more this season.

Washington County was led to victory by Christian Phelps and Brandon Carter Jr.. Phelps to rack up 24 points in addition to eight boards and five steals, while Carter Jr. en route to 21 points along with six assists and three steals. With that strong performance, Phelps is now averaging an impressive 2 steals per game. Another player making a difference was Nai'Jai Carter, who posted seven points.

Washington County smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive rebounds in five consecutive matchups.

Washington County's victory was their tenth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 19-3. As for Clover Garden School, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-14 record this season.

Washington County will take on Chatham Charter on Friday. Washington County is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 63.8 points per game this season. Clover Garden School does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
