Football Recap: Nooksack Valley Comes Up Short

Nooksack Valley was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a 46-39 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Mt. Baker Mountaineers. The Pioneers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Mountaineers apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in October of 2024.

Nooksack Valley now has a losing record of 2-3. As for Mt. Baker, they pushed their record up to 4-1 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road.

Looking ahead, Nooksack Valley will head out to square off against Blaine at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Pioneers will be up against the Borderites' rather soft defense (which has allowed 33.8 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Mt. Baker, they will welcome Meridian at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Trojans' defense has only allowed 9.6 points per game this season, so the Mountaineers' offense will have their work cut out for them.
