Soccer Game Preview: Central vs. Waynesville

Central is a perfect 3-0 against Waynesville since March of 2016 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Bulldogs will be playing at home against the Tigers at 6:45 p.m. Central's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for four straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Central fell victim to Nixa and their airtight defense on Tuesday. They lost 11-0 to the Eagles. While losing is never fun, Central can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Missouri soccer rankings (they are ranked 201st, while Nixa are ranked seventh).

Meanwhile, after soaring to six goals the game before, Waynesville was a bit more limited in their contest on Tuesday. They fell 2-0 to Glendale. The loss continues a trend for Waynesville in their meetings with Glendale: they've now lost four in a row.

Waynesville's defeat dropped their record down to 8-7. As for Central, their loss dropped their record down to 2-14.

Central was able to grind out a solid victory over Waynesville in their previous matchup back in March of 2024, winning 2-0. Do the Bulldogs have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Tigers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
