Softball Game Preview: Roosevelt Eagles vs. Littlefield Wildcats

The Roosevelt Eagles will square off against the Littlefield Wildcats at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Roosevelt has given up an average of 11.9 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week.

Roosevelt is headed into Tuesday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fourth straight game on Tuesday. They lost 13-0 to Muleshoe. The contest marked the first time this year in which the Eagles were not able to get on the board.

Meanwhile, Littlefield didn't have quite enough to beat Muleshoe on Saturday and fell 7-6.

Amaya Mccannick put in work while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she pitched 1.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. That's the fewest hits she has allowed since back in February. She was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one double and one RBI. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in hits.

In other batting news, Cali Saldana made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and one double. Another player making a difference was Hannah Lopez, who went 1-for-2 with one home run.

Even though they lost, Littlefield hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Muleshoe struck out seven times.

Littlefield's defeat dropped their record down to 13-5. As for Roosevelt, their loss dropped their record down to 1-8.
