Baseball Recap: Hillsboro Spartans vs. Parkrose Broncos
While Hillsboro's victory against Parkrose wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Spartans sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 9-7 win over the Broncos on Friday. The victory was nothing new for the Spartans as they're now sitting on four straight.
Connor Hammond made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He pitched 6.1 innings while giving up four earned (and three unearned) runs off three hits. Hammond was even better at the plate, going 3-for-4 with two doubles, one stolen base, and two RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March.

Hammond wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Stanley Ritter, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with two runs and two RBI. Those four hits gave Ritter a new career-high.
