Basketball Recap: Federal Hocking Comes Up Short

Federal Hocking was the 72-65 winner over Nelsonville-York when they last played one another back in January of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Federal Hocking Lancers came up short against the Nelsonville-York Buckeyes on Saturday, falling 89-64.

Federal Hocking has also traveled a rocky road recently having lost eight of their last nine contests, which has put a noticeable dent in their 4-18 record this season. That patch can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.7 points over those games. As for Nelsonville-York, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 13-8 record this season.

Federal Hocking and Nelsonville-York are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. Federal Hocking will be playing in front of their home fans against Clay at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Nelsonville-York, they will head out on the road to challenge Wellston at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
