Preview: Casa Roble Rams vs. Woodland Wolves
Casa Roble and Woodland are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2019, but not for long. The Casa Roble Rams will be playing at home against the Woodland Wolves at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Casa Roble has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 1,954 points over their last 27 matchups.
Casa Roble pushed their score all the way to 59 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 67-59 hit to the loss column at the hands of Mira Loma. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Casa Roble has scored all season.
Despite their loss, Casa Roble saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Benny Ambriz, who scored 20 points along with three steals, was perhaps the best of all. Ambriz is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 16 or more in the last 20 games he's played. Travis Remly was another key contributor, scoring 17 points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Meanwhile, Woodland's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their fifth straight loss. They fell just short of Pioneer by a score of 66-64. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Casa Roble's loss ended a six-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 21-6. As for Woodland, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost 12 of their last 13 contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-14 record this season.
Everything came up roses for Casa Roble against Woodland in their previous matchup back in January as the team secured a 90-58 victory. With Casa Roble ahead 53-26 at the half, the game was all but over already.
